Livin’ the Dream

Livin’ the Dream

Bill Rancic, my favorite celebrity from E! Entertainment’s hit reality show Giuliana & Bill, once said, “The American Dream is still alive out there, and hard work will get you there. You don’t necessarily need to have an Ivy League education or millions of dollars. It can be done with an idea, hard work, and determination.” Success comes to those who work hard towards their goal and NEVER GIVE UP. It’s important to note that success is not easy, it takes trial and error to get where you want to be. I hope to one day follow in Giuliana & Bill Rancic’s footsteps in order to have a successful career. Hard work and determination got them to where they are today, which is very inspiring to me. Successful power couples like the Rancic’s motivate me to never give up in school or work. Keeping up with the Rancic’s is hard enough!

Class of 2014
High School Grad!

Achieving the American Dream is my ultimate goal in life and my high school education has helped prepare me for it. I’ve had the privilege of attending Mercy High School, an all-girls school in Omaha. Mercy taught me to believe in myself and work hard in school. The opportunity that my parents so generously gave me to attend this school benefitted me in numerous ways. Mercy was like an Ivy League education for me because my teachers pushed me to succeed in class each day I went to school. I was challenged in every subject area, which made me a better student inside and outside of the classroom. I’m grateful that Mercy instilled in me its core values of Faith, Knowledge, and Service. Catherine McCauley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy in 1831, Ireland was a great role model for me to look up to during my time as a Mercy girl. She once said, “No work of charity can be more productive of good to society than the careful instruction of women.” I thank Mercy for preparing me for my life as Woman of Mercy.

Success is often portrayed on television as going from “rags to riches.” I’ve heard many stories of celebrities growing up poor and ultimately gaining their fame later on in life. It’s important to note that success didn’t just magically come to them, they had to work for it. Giuliana is a great example of a celebrity who didn’t have a lot of money growing up. She moved from Naples, Italy to America when she was only 7 years old, not knowing a word of English. She learned the English language by watching the news and talk shows on her TV. She knew that sh e wanted to be a journalist/anchor on television one day. In school, her teacher told her that she would never make it on TV not knowing proper English. Little did that teacher know that she would one day become a celebrity and the face of E! News. She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C. Giuliana was named anchor of E! News in 2005 and has been there ever since. She is the star of Fashion Police, Giuliana & Bill, Beyond Candid with Giuliana, and hosts E!’s Live from the Red Carpet. Giuliana is also the founder of her own clothing line G by Giuliana, XoG Wine, and her website Fab-Fit-Fun. Giuliana Rancic is one of the most hard working celebrities in Hollywood and I admire her continued success. She’s forever my role model and I will always be her #1 fan!

Giuliana’s Autograph to ME!

Bill Rancic, Giuliana’s husband, is an American entrepreneur and the winner of the first season of Donald Trump’s The Apprentice. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and graduated cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago. He speaks to businesses and organizations around the world on motivational and business topics. Bill shares his entertaining lessons that vary from a pancake business he started with his grandmother at age 10 to his current multi-million dollar real estate enterprise in Chicago. He also develops real estate in Chicago and stars in several television programs. He’s a New York Times best-selling author of You’re Hired: How to Succeed in Business and Life and Beyond the Lemonade Stand. Bill became a successful entrepreneur when he founded Cigars Around the World, a monthly online subscription-based retailer that ultimately became a multi-million dollar enterprise. What I love most about Bill Rancic is his willingness to give back. He’s about to complete his fifth    trip to Haiti, building homes for victims of the earthquake. Bill is also an active board member for the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.

Successful businesses and shows are what essentially helped both Giuliana and Bill rise to fame. They both certainly weren’t rich growing up, but simply earned it all by themselves. I love telling their stories to everyone I meet because they both gave me their autograph. I treasure it each day and look to for daily inspiration. I’m thankful that they always write back to their fans and acknowledge them. Bill and Giuliana are the most down-to-earth celebrity power couple and for that I’m truly grateful. Thank you again B & G! 🙂
